Summary – Alma Whittaker takes us through her life. Being born in 19th century London, her journey takes her to Peru and Tahiti, but the greatest change is in her mind. There is a love for plants, for science and for learning. Added to that, the restrictions and expectations placed upon well-to-do women of the era, strong-minded Alma fights to be more.
Rating & Why – A well rounded novel with great depth of story. Five stars *****.
