National Share a Story Month

Being read to is a wonderful experience. The comfort of hearing someone’s voice, sharing a story! We all need a little comfort from time to time, which is why we are strong supporters of National Share a Story Month.

Research shows that reading aloud regularly to children improves reading skills, comprehension, and fosters a lifelong love of reading.

Storytime sessions of just 20 minutes a day have been shown to significantly enhance children’s reading attainment in a single school term!

Why not pop in to our library and have a browse of our shelves. We have all sorts of weird and wonderful books for you to borrow. And we are eager to hear your thoughts about them too!

And you don’t JUST have to read to children – adults enjoy being read to to!
